See it in action
More visibility during travel.
Other pet travel companies will tell you, "No news is good news." But in a world where we can track packages and food deliveries in real time, that's simply not good enough.
✔ With a CareTags-powered move, you'll stay informed every step of the journey.
✔ Your pet's travel kennel is equipped with a QR-coded tracking label. Drivers and handlers throughout your pet's move can scan the label to provide instant updates.
✔ You'll automatically receive updates by email and text, keeping you informed about what's happening and how your pet is doing, including photos along the way.
✔ You'll also be able to view each update's GPS location on a map, giving you greater visibility and peace of mind throughout your pet's journey.
The smartest pet tag available.
The benefits of CareTags starts before your pet's trip and will extend well beyond it, too. Your pet will get a CareTag that it can wear on its collar. And you'll have access to the CareTags Pet Wallet app — bringing your pet’s life into the Cloud, keeping things organized and your pet safe:
✔ Store multiple points of contact so that someone is always in reach.
✔ Easily update if details change or you move. Truly the last pet tag you’ll ever need.
✔ Digital wallet for your pet’s records, vet appointments, and medications stored all in one place.
✔ Real-time geolocation alerts if your pet is lost and their tag is scanned by someone, reconnecting you with your furry friend quickly and safely.
A better recovery tool.
When pets move to a new home, there’s a much higher chance that if they get out, they won’t be able to find their way back. Having a CareTag gives an extra, high-tech layer of safety as your pet acclimates to their new home:
✔ Each CareTag has a unique QR code which anyone with a smartphone camera can scan (no special app required).
✔ Your pet’s finder will be able to see critical details about your pet, including your contact information, but also urgent health alerts that the person should know (e.g., your pet requires insulin or has a severe allergy).
✔ When a CareTag is scanned, you receive the finder’s GPS location and contact information.
Your pet'srecords at your fingertips
Have all of your pet’s vet records digitally available and ready to share with the new vet practice at your new home.
✔ Store important veterinary paperwork such as vaccine records and rabies certificates.
✔ Have digital backups of important travel documents.
✔ Easily add, view, and share documents and records right from the app.
Stay Organized
Everyone is keeping their lives organized and scheduled with the help of the cloud and smartphones. Why not your pet’s?
✔ Keep track of your pet’s medication dosages
✔ Keep a diary of upcoming vet, boarding, or grooming appointments.
✔ Text and email reminders for upcoming medication doses and appointments.
FAQs
My pet already has a microchip. Do I need a CareTag, too?
Believe it or not, microchips are not an effective recovery tool. A microchip only stores a 15-digit number on it. A vet’s office scanning a microchip will need to search this number in a database to find details about your pet & your contact info. The problem? There are hundreds of different databases across the world. A CareTag works across the globe with no special chip reader required.
I have an Apple AirTag for my pet. Do I need a CareTag, too?
While Apple AirTags can be a great tools, active tracking solutions like this are also not enough — their batteries can die and they are only effective if you know your pet is gone and you’re looking at the app. A CareTag doesn’t have a battery and is always “on”.
Is a subscription required?
The purchase of a CareTag includes a physical QR-coded tag your pet wears on their collar and access to the Pet Wallet app. The Pet Wallet app has a host of features which are included for free & for life.
If you’d like to unlock even more value—like adding privacy control, pet document storage and sharing, appointment diary, vaccine and medication reminders, CareTags Connect, and more—you can opt for CareTags Plus for $3/month.
With your purchase of CareTags through Starwood, you’ll get three months of Plus for FREE.

Is my information private?
In today’s world, privacy matters. With CareTags Plus, you can choose to share your contact information or keep your contact information private from people who find your pet. The finder can still share their contact info with you, and then you can choose how to contact them (e.g. calling them using *67 in the U.S., 141 in the U.K., *31# in Australia, etc.).
